The Swarovski Annual Edition 2012 Whale Paikea is a breathtaking portrayal of the humpback whale. It captures the dynamic movement of this powerful mammal breaching. The magnitude of power the whale uses to propel its body out of the water is conveyed through each and every crystal facet. Swarovski’s expertises in design, technique and craftsmanship have allowed the manifestation of the extraordinary balance required to create this moving sculpture.

Swarovski designer Stefanie Nederegger used Shadow crystal for best expression of the massive body and the crested wave. Paikea’s true-to-life, contrasting and elongated fins are created in Crystal Moonlight. Annual Edition 2012 Whale Paikea stands at 16 cm (6 3/8 inches). The wave-shaped title plaque is included and indicates the year, the name Paikea as well as the designer’s signature. It comes with gloves and a certificate of authenticity. The Annual Edition is exclusively available for SCS members in 2012 only and limited to one piece per member.

The Young Whale, available separately, makes a perfect display accompaniment to the Annual Edition 2012. Young Whale rides atop an ocean wave which has been designed to fit within Paikea’s wave base or be displayed independently.
