18ct white gold blue and white diamond earrings
These beautiful earrings were created for a long-standing customer of Rivoli Bespoke jewellery,
Deb Macklin, jewellery designer at Rivoli recalls how the piece came about,
"When in Rivoli during a Spring visit to the Island I showed them a preview of the designs for new Centre Ville Collection and being collectors of our jewellery they asked to commission a first edition from the collection.
The earrings were handmade in 18ct white gold and feature round brilliant and pear-shaped blue and white diamonds to complement a pendant of the same design in the customer's jewellery collection. The earrings were made as ‘Jackets’ so that any pair of stud earrings could be worn with them. Shown here with 1.00ct Rivoli Diamond studs.

Where did the Valentine’s Day tradition come from?
Valentine’s Day has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery. At the end of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day. It came to be celebrated as a day of romance from about the 14th century.
